    Re: Supporting PoE

    I'm considering stash tabs too.

I wish there was some sort of cosmetic shotgun to kill those glowing chickens wandering in town, or a fox pet that eats dodo birds... I wouldn't mind if they respawned after a couple minutes... To die again... (Just kidding, I think I saw a diamond dodo and it looked very cool).

The witch dance is cool, but I wish I could pay to unsee some dances... As for the pets, the spectral basilisk looks cool, but red dragons or nothing...

Also, about tabs: isn't that "functional enough" to be considered cosmetic? Ok, not saying it's "p2w", since you can have lots of mules. Also, not complaining about the price (which I don't know yet), since I could easily donate $50 bucks for GGG, considering how awesome the game is - and free. Point is: how "cosmetic" and "not advantageous" they are, since a lot of people consider it a very good upgrade to gaming experience, cost/benefit wise, to pass?

Can you get more than 10 total tabs? And can you make your original tabs premium? Not sure I really need more tabs, but there's just so much crap to collect!
You can buy as many tabs as you want (at least more than 100, that's for sure). And you can upgrade your original tabs for 10 points each.

I played a lot during Closed Beta and I had only 4 tabs and a couple of mules. Those tabs and mules were enough for my 2-3 toons. And my friend still plays like that. Of course, it's much more convenient to hoard rares, superior gear and uniques when you have that extra space, but it's possible to enjoy the game without it.

I seriously don't know what the PR and business department folks in GGG are smoking. $90 for a single pet? And they hope to earn money that way?

I am a Gold supporter. I played in CB and leveled a few char to mid 50s. I didnt sign up till december. When open beta arrived the game really changed for the worse IMHO. I would not support it now. They nerfed serveral skills causing a situation where you basically have to dump all passives into resist and hitpoints regardless of class. These problems dont show up till around lvl 50 then you learn your build is effed and time to reroll. This boils down to a typical "100s of choices" (read 1or2 right ones). The community is also very rabid. Think cave trolls on bath salts. I got so frustrated with the prospect of lvling another char and just clicking hp in the passive. I tried Titans quest today. Made that for all of an hr. i felt like I should be 9 or 10 to play it. I think POE has major potential. I think they need stop catering to the top 10 players. Would it be such a bad thing if the average Joe could grind his way up over time? Will I bother to build the accepted char at this point. I dunno. Frankly its begining to be a little boring spending my days lvling in the churchyard and ledge. basic formula. Hit desired lvl do questing so deaths dont matter. hit next desired lvl do questing so death penalty wont matter. rinse repeat. I now this is the same as any arpg. Maybe things have changed in 10 years. Maybe I dont have the patience for poor coding. GGG says its about hard choices. No its not. Just take the one path that works. Thats effed. Loved it pre OB. Could love it again.

I never played before open beta, but that's interesting. I can see where you're coming from and wonder if I'd feel the same way had I started in closed beta. As is, I've had a lot of fun with the game and purchased enough microtransactions to equal the price of an industry game, about sixty bucks, almost all spent on stash space.

    Re: Supporting PoE

The first build I tried worked great, and I'm now 75 and doing maps no problem. I didn't grab a guide, I just looked at the tree and picked stuff. It is possible I got absurdly lucky, but I don't think the builds situation is quite as dire as you make it out to be.

My second char is in act 1 merciless at 52, and doing great. We'll see if I hit a brick wall, but there's no indications that I will yet.

Obviously yes I did pick up a bunch of HP nodes on my first char, and am picking up a bunch of ES nodes on my second char. You need to balance your points between defense and offense. I fail to see how that is in any possible way a bad thing.

From a casual look at the official forums, it seems you're right that there aren't hundreds of viable unique builds, that's true, but there are dozens. Then there are variations that can be made on those to suit the player's taste. You just can't focus on pure offense.

Also it isn't difficult to imagine that, like Diablo 2, a lot of unique and interesting builds will open up once you have some high end gear. There were a pretty small handful of good builds for starting from scratch and going through D2. Of course if you were patient and determined you could do it with pretty much anything (which by the way it seems you can here too), but there were only about a dozen or so builds that could be considered "good" choices for starting without access to good gear.

I gave them 20 bucks and got some stash tabs. Well worth it.

I just splurged on 6 stash tabs and a red king frog.

Don't know how I managed without so far.
