Playing solo? How far you got?

Right now I'm playing solo and my main character (Marauder Archer) never entered a party. Just entered act 2 cruel.

I heard that the game is hard when you play solo. Is that true or people are managing to clear Merciless solo?

(TP at boss an chain-dying until he/she dies is an option - I'm kinda focused on softcore)

I'm up to A1 hell (yes I'll be calling it hell) and doing ledge runs just fine with a melee marauder. Just killed Brutus and I feel like I'm about to hit a brick wall quite soon.

That's with a melee character, even the devs have said they're a bit borked atm, I think you should be fine with a ranger.

My duelist (dual wield) hit a brick wall on A3 normal, so I put the melee on hold. I heard somewhere (D2 forums OT maybe) that summoners are great for solo playing.

HC solo 2H Marauder almost at the end of Act 3. Can't say that it's hard, but I think I'll join a party in Cruel.

I reached Act 3 Cruel, trying to reach the docks for fun, profit and XP. Stuff is kinda taking some time to die...

I got towards the end of Act 2 Normal. Then something weird happened in the pyramid and my character started constantly shooting regular arrows in whatever direction i pointed, but was rooted to the ground. Some sort of a bug (and/or keyboard receiver problem on my end maybe?). Anyways, there were a bunch of "claw vipers" and a champion in the area who took advantage of me being stuck, and I got sent to the default league.

I'll delete myself there so I can remake a HC Idisa eventually, but for a change of pace I started up a marauder.

That's happened to me a few times. I get desynched quite often, I think it might be me desynched + some monster freezing me. That's what I've always though, haven't really looked into it.

I've encountered too many bugs like that to play HC in the game yet. I've had the unable to move bug 3-4 times, and gotten disconnected while fighting a dozen times. I've also had pathing errors cause me to walk in completely the opposite direction of where I clicked (forcing me right into voidbearers), and various other issues.

I liked HC in D2, and I probably will in PoE once the game is out of beta, but right now I'm going to stick with softcore.

Just finished up Normal mode last night and got a rude awakening in the second difficulty - Cruel I think. Finished as level 38 Marauder with 2 handed axe.
