Re: Maps! (dedicated group?)
They just added it a couple days ago. Lots of people on the forums re hoping they add a way to create a map that is UnID.
It's been really hard for me to feel motivated to run/farm maps anymore. Since the patch boosting A3 area levels maps just seem almost pointless. Of course this is coming from a person that has never had a 70+ map drop for him.
I've got my triple spork totem witch up to level 73 now, and she should easily be able run most maps. She has like 150 IIQ and 250 IIR if I remember right, which should make for some nice drops.

Re: Maps! (dedicated group?)
I dunno, I think the unid bonus is kind of a way to make maps that drop other-than-white actually be something to get excited about. So in that sense I think it is good as is.
I ran Lunaris a few times, and that was fine, but then I went back to doing maps, because despite the level, nothing higher than a 66 map can drop in Lunaris. So, I figure I might as well run maps instead as long as I have them. I'm not burning a bunch of currency re-rolling low level maps or anything, but why not run maps? It's been really hard for me to feel motivated to run/farm maps anymore. To me the main thing with Lunaris farming instead of map farming is if you are unable to commit 10 consecutive minutes. Maybe you're on call or looking after a kid or something. You can stop Lunaris farming at the drop of a hat, no issue. You also don't feel obligated to hunt down and kill stray enemies, you just go from big pack to big pack, so that's nice I guess.
You don't think the curse thing will be a problem with some map mod combinations? I've not tried it so I guess I dunno. Can you have more than one curse at a time from them or do they just over-write each other? If the latter I guess it isn't a big deal, you just decurse (or re-cast a totem) if you get temp chains.I've got my triple spork totem witch up to level 73 now, and she should easily be able run most maps. Re: Maps! (dedicated group?)
Yea, Lunaris is just very predictable, so I don't have to even worry about things like chaos in there.
The curses are a real PITA. I don't even have maxed resists before I get cursed, so they can really hurt me. They also stack infinitely, I've had at least 6 curses on me at one time if my totems are getting wrecked. But I carry 3 flasks with curse removal on them and I've never once ran out of them, and I use them very liberally. This might not be the case with a larger group though , as I wouldn't be getting all the kills.
It may not work out, but i really haven't tried it to see.

So yeah, if they stack infinitely, I'm thinking reflect maps are going to screw you pretty hard.

Yea, I could always add an elemental resist support gem in there, that would probably make a pretty good difference.

If you sell 3 same magical maps to vendor you get an unid magical one level higher back. Should work for rares too. Just found a rare dried lake map which I ran unid, it had 103 quantity. Got 5 maps from that.

Re: Maps! (dedicated group?)
I'm definitely considering 3 66 maps and 3 trans orbs for 1 67 unid. I'm not particularly interested in running 66s (although I do chance my crypt maps).
I'm thinking there's not much use in 3 alchs + 3 maps for an unid rare map though. Maps I'd want to spend alchs on are high enough level that I'm not really going to want to burn 3 maps to get one map, and that I'm also probably going to want to target specific mods.
